In 2006, a magic mushroom trip became a death-and-rebirth experience Karl describes as being “born dead alive.” Nearly twenty years later, he is still doing the impossible work of integrating it.

He lives with voices and hallucinations — including the frightening feeling that people are trapped in his body, or climbing over him toward heaven. Those experiences feel real to Karl. This page does not claim they are objectively real.

There was no movie ending. Karl works part time, struggles financially, and keeps showing up. $KARL turns that survival into a meme: not a cure, not proof, not a prophecy. A cracked little signal that says, “I’m still here.”
